NIU has been given a glimpse of its first food truck via Instagram.

The DogHouse, an entrepreneurial project started by three NIU alumni, raised $20,000 by Nov. 25 through Kickstarter to purchase NIU’s first student-run food truck. DogHouse co-founder Jordan Delegal said people can expect to see photos of the truck, which is under production by Trailers A GoGo, on social media within the coming weeks. A photo of the truck’s frame was posted on Instagram.

“Getting into this entrepreneurial endeavor is very gratifying, but it’s also tedious with … all of us having full-time jobs as well,” Delegal said. “I’m really happy about the research that we’ve done and the all work that we’ve done on the back end so that when we’re ready to unveil, there will be nothing wrong with” the truck.

Delegal did not give a date for the truck’s NIU debut, but said it will be on campus for a big event NIU does every year in the spring.
