NIU’s College of Education dean to talk about education at White House

The dean of the College of Education will speak at the White House on Feb. 11.

La Vonne Neal will speak about issues for K-20 education for the Association for the Study of African American Life and History. Neal will discuss the initiatives the Obama administration has taken on behalf of education in the past six years. The conference at the White House will celebrate the association’s 100th anniversary, and topics such as healthcare, women and gender and mass incarceration will be addressed.
