Former NIU quarterback Jordan Lynch has signed with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League, according to a news release.

Lynch was a Heisman finalist during his tenure at NIU. He broke several NCAA, MAC and NIU records, and was named a MAC MVP.

The former Huskie signed with the Chicago Bears in May, but he was waived in late August.

In 2012, Lynch led the team to the MAC Championship and Orange Bowl; in 2013, he took the Huskies to the MAC Championship game as well as the Poinsettia Bowl. Lynch also led the Huskies to their first undefeated regular season in school history, going 12-0, and didn’t lose a home game in two years.
