City services open post-location move

The city of DeKalb divisions that were relocated Friday to the Municipal Building were open for full service Monday.

The city moved its building, engineering, transportation and information technology divisions from the City Hall Annex, 223 S. Fourth St., to the Municipal Building, 200 S. Fourth St., to improve customer service and efficiency, according to a DeKalb news release.

“For the first time in two decades, all City Hall employees are under one roof,” said Mayor John Rey, according to the release. “It is going to be more convenient for citizens, contractors and developers, who can have all their questions answered in one place.”

All divisions except the building division will be open during normal Municipal Building hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Building division will be open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
