Men’s soccer roughed up in Buffalo

By Northern Star Staff

Men’s soccer failed to spur a comeback against Buffalo after a pair of red cards left it with only nine players for the final 19 minutes.

The Huskies (3-7-5, 0-2-1 MAC) lost to the Buffalo Bulls (5-8-2, 1-0-2 MAC), 2-1, Saturday at UB Stadium in Buffalo, N.Y.

Senior Isaac Kannah and sophomore Cody Witkowski received red cards in the 61st and 71st minutes, respectively, and were ejected from the game.

Kannah scored the Huskies’ first goal in the 60th minute, 1:33 before he was tossed. Freshman Len Heinson had an assist on the goal.

Buffalo got a brace from Russell Cicerone, who netted goals in the 41st and 54th minutes.

The Huskies return home with two games left on their regular season schedule: 7 p.m. Saturday vs. the Akron Zips and 6 p.m. Nov. 8 against the Bowling Green Falcons. Both games are at the Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
