Reception planned for DeKalb exhibit
September 7, 2014
The Anthropology Museum will hold an opening reception for its Curated by DeKalb: 50 years of the Anthropology Museum exhibition at 4 p.m. Sept. 23 in Cole Hall.
The exhibition, running now until May, was part of a community effort to decide which of the more than 20,000 museum objects would be displayed for the museum’s 50th anniversary. Among the objects on display are two khon masks from Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand, who visited NIU in September 2014, and a Latin American ceramic dog figurine selected for the exhibition by Victor E. Huskie.
The free reception will have refreshments and live music.
