Men’s soccer opens the 2014 season with a pair of road contests.

The Huskies take on the Hofstra Pride 4:30 p.m. Friday and the Quinnipiac Bobcats 11 a.m. Sunday. Both games take place in Evanston as part of the Northwestern Lakeside Classic.

The Pride won their lone preseason contest, 2-1, against Lafatte College Aug. 17.

The Bobcats ended their sole preseason game with a 0-0 draw against the Connecticut Huskies Aug. 17.

The Huskies, on the other hand, have had some time to tweak their team during three preseason games.

They posted a 2-0-1 record during preseason play, beating IUPUI and DePauw, 2-1 and 4-0, respectively. They settled for a scoreless draw against Western Illinois.
