By Northern Star Staff

Kids can learn how to safely work on a farm at the June 27 Farm Safety Camp at Jonamac Orchard, 19412 Shabbona Road in Malta.

Participants will learn how to recognize safety hazards. The camp is designed for children 8 to 12 years old who live on a farm, go to farms or have a connection to farm families, according to a news release from the DeKalb County Farm Bureau.

The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants can register at DeKalbFarmBureau.org or can register by June 13 at the bureau’s office, 1350 W. Prairie Drive in Sycamore. Registration is $10 per camper or $20 per family, which includes a T-shirt, lunch and materials.
