Open forum to be held for Ghanem

Salma Ghanem, candidate for executive vice president and provost, will be at NIU Wednesday and Thursday.

University staff and community members may meet with Ghanem in an open forum 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Wednesday in Altgeld Hall, Room 315.

Faculty may meet with Ghanem in an open forum 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Altgeld Hall, Room 315.

Students can meet with Ghanem in an open forum 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Holmes Student Center’s Illinois Room.

Ghanem is the dean of the College of Communication and Fine Arts at Central Michigan University.

Previously, Ghanem served in the press office of the Egyptian Mission to the United Nations.

Ghanem earned her bachelor’s from the University of Texas-Pan American in 1987 and her doctorate in journalism from the University of Texas-Austin in 1996.

Feedback forms, which will be given to NIU President Doug Baker, will be distributed at each forum.
