Chukuka Enwemeka has withdrawn as a candidate for executive vice president and provost, NIU announced Tuesday.

Enwemeka withdrew from his candidacy as he has accepted a provost position at another university, he told NIU.

Enwemeka had planned to visit NIU Thursday and Friday and attend forums with faculty, university staff and students. Those forums are now canceled.

Enwemeka is a university distinguished professor and the current dean of the College of Health Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Two provost candidates, to be announced at a later date, are slated to visit NIU later this month.
