Just Sayin’: Justice League movie, seafood and Kenya Moore
April 29, 2014
Pat Quinn: Justice League movie
Zack Snyder announced a Justice League movie will be released in 2018 this week.
I don’t understand how the production team is going to be able to pull off a Justice League movie when characters and casting are going to be a problem.
“Green Lantern” wasn’t successful and the hero is a major component to the team. “Man of Steel” was an excellent boost for the DC Comics line of films, but the upcoming “Superman vs. Batman” is questionable.
The storylines when these two are together are astounding, whether it’s in a comic book or an animated feature. The uncertainty lies with the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman.
DC Comics needs to get its act together before adding more films to its list of bad ones. Just sayin’.
Claire Buchanan: “The Pigeon Needs a Bath”
No one has described the captivating lives of pigeons better than author Mo Willems. Willems’ series includes “The Pigeon Loves Things that Go!: A Smidgeon of Pigeon” and “Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late!”
This artistic, pigeon fanatic has added a new installment for students of all ages to enjoy.
“The Pigeon Needs a Bath” is as charming as the other books in the series. Each book has cute drawings and interactive adventures with a pigeon who does not always know what is best for him.
The pigeon is so silly, and it is very easy for readers to fall in love. Most readers can relate to the poor pigeon. After all, even adults have to do things they don’t want to do.
Children’s books aren’t only fun for children. Just sayin’.
Nate Linhart: Seafood
DeKalb needs to pay some serious respect to seafood.
This college town possesses hardly any seafood joints, and that is a real shame. The lack of shrimp and crab is disheartening. Seafood is the greatest food category in the world, and I want my fix of it. I can’t, though, because this town won’t let me.
I’m a big spender when it comes to food, so it’s torture not being able to get succulent lobster here.
Although I love Mexican food and pizza, those types of restaurants have taken over. DeKalb needs to be more inviting to allow more seafood places to swim their way in.
I know we aren’t in Florida, so getting seafood isn’t always easy, but someone needs to figure it out. Just sayin’.
Sabreena Saleem: Makeup at the gym
The gym is a place for students and residents to dedicate time to your shape, not skin.
People often crack jokes about girls who wear makeup to the gym. While wearing a full face of makeup to the gym is unnecessary, it’s also bad for your skin.
As your body heats up and you start to sweat, the pores in your face open up and allow dirt, oil and makeup to clog them, ultimately resulting in a major breakout.
Makeup products like foundation are typically used to cover up blemishes, but by removing these products from your face before your workout, you can eliminate one of the major and frustrating factors of skin breakouts.
Who wants to worry about mascara running down their face at the gym, anyway? Just sayin’.
Aymie Telinski: Kenya Moore on “Housewives”
Kenya Moore needs to be stopped and kicked off “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
Kenya is pressing charges against castmate Porsha Williams because of a hair-pulling incident.
This whole season has led up to Kenya releasing her inner crazy and hate toward Porsha. The reunion really showed how much the two hate each other. In the first part of the reunion Kenya kept putting a scepter in Porsha’s face and yelling at her. In the second, more drama-filled part, Kenya thought it was a good time to bring out a megaphone and scream in Porsha’s face. Porsha got off the couch and tried to tear Kenya’s hair off, like any normal person.
Executive producer Andy Cohen needs to get his act together and kick Kenya off the show. Just sayin’.
