NIU has selected communication professor Laura Vazquez and physics professor David Hedin to honor as its 2014 Board of Trustees professors.

The top university honor recognizes faculty members for international renown in their research and excellence in all facets of teaching.

Vazquez is a documentary filmmaker whose works have screened internationally, while Hedin is a physicist. Vazquez and Hedin live in DeKalb.
