A Saturday fundraiser for the Sycamore History Museum, 1730 N. Main St., featured former President Abraham Lincoln and his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln.

Lincoln impersonators Max and Donna Daniels were the focal point of the museum’s annual winter fundraiser.

Abraham Lincoln, played by Max Daniels, discussed his early years as well as some of the major issues of the time.

Mary Todd Lincoln, played by Donna Daniels, discussed the troubles families faced during the Civil War.

Board member Jayne Higgins said the museum has a different enactor every year.

“It’s a unique evening. The money raised is used to add to the museum’s endowment so we can maintain preserving the history of Sycamore,” Higgins said.

Higgins said this year the museum is funding a new exhibit called “General Dutton’s America.” Dutton was a Union general during the Civil War and was from Sycamore.

In addition to the speakers, the evening featured silent auction items and refreshments.
