Pass: Winter weather is finally letting up
In a fit of anxious excitement, I’ve been checking the weekly forecast all weekend.
Guess what? Most of this week appears to feature the most consistent streak of habitable weather conditions we’ve experienced since the end of last fall.
The National Weather Service has the expected high of each day this week bouncing between the upper 30s to the low 50s. Not once is the temperature expected to dip below freezing during the day.
The key phrase here is “during the day,” but that doesn’t matter. It’s beach weather, folks. I don’t care what anyone else says.
Fail: Primaries bring bad commercials
What’s worse than a really bad commercial? A really bad commercial advertising a product nobody wants: Another Illinois politician.
Like any other couch potato, I can’t stand commercials in general. But nothing tops mudslinging efforts political candidates make to sell themselves to me.
Whether it’s Bruce Rauner’s cockiness or Kirk Dillard’s education endorsements, nothing these candidates say or do can really convince me I’ll vote for the right guy when the primaries kick off.
When Tuesday’s over, I hope to see only my regularly scheduled bad commercials for a while.
