Mechanical engineering professor Brianno Coller will appear in a 10-part video series detailing the use of science and engineering in the 2014 Olympics.

The videos are titled “Science and Engineering of the 2014 Olympic Winter Games,” and is part of the National Science Foundation and NBC Learn’s “The Science of Sports” series.

Coller will be featured in a segment showing how engineering is used in the construction of snowboarding half-pipes, according to NIU Today.

Coller had been directly recommended for the series by the National Science Foundation.

The series is available to teachers for free at NBCLearn.com and National Science Foundation websites like NSF.gov. Related lesson plans are also available.
