Police have arrested a man who allegedly fired shots at an apartment complex Wednesday.

Benjamin L. Evans, 27, of DeKalb, has been charged with aggravated use of a weapon, unlawful possession of weapon by felon and aggravated discharge of a firearm. Bond is set at $250,000. Evans was taken to DeKalb County Jail and the investigation is ongoing.

Police responded to James Court Apartments, located in the 2600 block of North First Street, at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. After investigating, officers determined two groups of men were arguing in the parking lot of the apartment complex, according to a news release. During the argument, one man pulled out a handgun and shot at the other group’s vehicle. When officers arrived, both groups were gone. There were no known injuries.

Evans’ next court date is Nov. 21.
