Anthropology professor Giovanni Bennardo has been awarded a $218,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to lead a team to investigate the effect of climate change on the cultural models of primary food produces in the world.

Fifteen scholars and six graduate students from universities in the United States, Europe, China and the Middle East will conduct research at 15 locations across five continents.

The research expedition will build on the results of a similarly themed workshop held by Bennardo in September 2011 at NIU.
