Physics professor to give perspective on Higgs boson

As part of its STEM Cafe series, NIU STEM Outreach invites the public to a discussion on the importance of the Higgs boson discovery.
The event is free to the public and will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at Claddagh Irish Pub, 1702 Commons Drive in Geneva. Food and drinks will be available to purchase.
Physics professor Dhiman Chakraborty will provide a layman’s perspective on the nature of the theory predicting the particle and will talk about how scientists have proven the theory. Following a discussion there will be a question and answer session.
