Reward available for finding dog
October 27, 2013
A search for a local dog is now bringing a reward into the picture.
On Oct. 21, a dog named Buddy was a passenger in a car accident on Fairview Drive between Nestle and Panduit. Buddy was scared by the incident and took off while responders cared for his owner.
Rescue agencies, community members and the DeKalb Police Department have combined efforts since to locate the dog, and Nestle, a corporate business in DeKalb, is offering a $500 reward to the person who finds Buddy.
Buddy is a reddish/light brown cross between a beagle and a Jack Russell terrier, according to police. If someone sees Buddy, they are asked to approach him with caution, as he is shy.
He does not like to be touched and may bite. He should be wearing a collar with a blue bone tag and he weighs about 30 pounds.
Anyone with information should call the Police Department at 815-748-8400.
