Wednesday
At 12:34 a.m. on April 12, an officer on patrol of Lot O made contact with a complainant in regard to criminal damage and theft from a motor vehicle. The officer took a report. On Wednesday, this case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.
At 12:24 a.m., an officer was dispatched to Swen Parson Hall in regard to a report of an unauthorized individual in a classroom. The officer made contact with the individual, who had two active arrest warrants for failure to appear in court for traffic offenses. Sefan H. Mosby, 53, was arrested and processed at the NIU Police Department. Mosby was transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
At 8:23 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Lincoln Drive North and Grant Drive East. The driver of the vehicle, Sam White, 19, provided false information to the officer. White also had three active arrest warrants for escape/violation of electronic monitoring, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance. White was arrested and processed at the NIU Police Department. White was transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
At 12:36 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Stevenson Towers North in regard to a report of credit card fraud. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 7:44 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Grant Towers North in regard to a report of criminal trespass. The officer made contact with the individual in question. Shijuan Rogers, 18, was arrested for criminal trespass. Rogers was processed at the NIU Police Department and then released on $150 bond.
At 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the 800 block of Kimberly Drive to assist DeKalb Police in regard to a report of a fight in progress. The officers arrived on scene and made contact with an individual in question. The individual, Stephon M. Harris, 23, attempted to flee from the officers. Harris was located and subsequently provided false information in regard to his identity. Harris was charged with obstructing identification and obstructing a peace officer. He was processed at the DeKalb Police Department.
At 9:32 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the NIU Visitors/Pay Parking Lot in regard to a report of a disabled vehicle. The officer arrived on scene and made contact with the driver of the vehicle. During the contact the officer detected the odor of burnt cannabis and discovered drug
Paraphernalia. The driver of the vehicle was given a verbal warning for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Thursday
At 2:02 a.m., an officer on patrol of Douglas Hall made contact with a complainant in regard to a report of theft. The officer took a report. Later that day the complainant recovered the property. This case was administratively closed.
At 3:16 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Zulauf Hall in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 6:21 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of credit card fraud. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
