At 9:43 p.m., an officer on patrol of Grant Drive Extension conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. During the course of the stop, the officer discovered drug paraphernalia and a stun gun in the vehicle. The driver was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of drug paraphernalia. On Friday, Michael J. Plouffe, 22, was arrested on a warrant for unlawful use of a weapon. Plouffe was processed at the NIU Police Department and transported to the DeKalb County Jail.

At 2:40 p.m. on April 8, an officer was dispatched to the Parking Deck in regard to a report of criminal damage. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. On Friday, this case was administratively closed due to lack of leads.

At 1:01 a.m., officers were dispatched to Neptune West in regard to a report of cannabis. The officers arrived on the scene and investigated. The incident was determined to be unfounded.

At 10:30 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 11:06 a.m., an officer was dispatched to Lot V in regard to a report of criminal damage. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 12:12 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 3:18 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of deceptive practices. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. While speaking with the complainant, the officer determined the incident was being falsely reported. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 5:38 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Douglas Hall in regard to a report of criminal defacement of property. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 7:14 p.m., an officer on patrol of the Convocation Center made contact with an individual who was banned from NIU property. Kevin B. Smith, 24, was arrested for criminal trespass to state-supported property. Smith was processed at the NIU Police Department and released on $150 bond.

At 7:16 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Lot X in regard to a report of criminal damage. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 8:41 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Lot X in regard to a report of criminal damage. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 9:28 p.m., an officer on patrol of Lot O made contact with a complainant in regard to a report of criminal damage and theft from a motor vehicle. The officer took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 10:40 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Stevenson Towers North in regard to a report of cannabis. The officer arrived on the scene and investigated. The incident was determined to be unfounded.

At 11:36 p.m., an officer on patrol of New Hall East made contact with an individual who was under 21 and intoxicated. The individual was given a verbal warning for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Saturday

At 3:18 p.m. on Friday, an officer was dispatched to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of deceptive practices. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. While speaking with the complainant, the officer determined the incident was being falsely reported. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 1:21 a.m., an officer on patrol of the Convocation Center made contact with an individual who was banned from NIU property. The individual also had an active arrest warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of obstructing identification. Devante L. Jefferson, 22, was arrested for criminal trespass and failure to appear in court. He was processed at the NIU Police Department and then transported to the DeKalb County Jail.

At 2:14 a.m., an officer was dispatched to Neptune North in regard to a report of an intoxicated individual. The officer arrived on scene and made contact with the individual in question, who was under 21 and intoxicated. The individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

At 2:33 a.m., officers responded to Lot O in regard to a report of a fight in progress. The officers made contact with two individuals, one of whom was under 21 and intoxicated. The individuals were referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for battery. The officer also initiated an investigation in regard to unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor, which is open pending further investigation.

At 3:15 a.m., an officer on patrol of the Convocation Center made contact with an individual who was banned from NIU property. During contact, the individual attempted to flee from the officer. Marcus P. Hankton, 22, was arrested for criminal trespass and obstructing a peace officer. Hankton was transported to the DeKalb County Jail.

At 11:17 a.m., officers were dispatched to Neptune Hall East in regard to a report of domestic battery. The officers arrived on scene and identified the individuals involved. The individuals were given a verbal warning and banned from NIU property.

At 2:59 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Lot 16 in regard to a report of burglary to a motor vehicle. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 6:22 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Grant Towers North in regard to a report of cannabis. The officer arrived on scene and investigated. The incident was determined to be unfounded.

At 10:57 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Grant Towers North in regard to a report of intoxicated individuals. The officer arrived on scene and made contact with three individuals who were under 21 and had been consuming alcohol. Two individuals were given verbal warnings and one individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct.

At 11:33 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Neptune Central in regard to a report of a disorderly subject. The officer made contact with the individual in question, who was under 21 and intoxicated. The individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

At 11:43 p.m., an officer on patrol of the 900 block of Greenbrier Road made contact with an individual who was under 21 and in possession of alcohol. The individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.

Sunday

At 1:37 a.m., an officer on patrol of Douglas Hall made contact with an individual who was under 21 and intoxicated. The individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

At 2:10 a.m., an officer on patrol of Grant Drive Extension conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. During the stop, the officer discovered cannabis in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Raymond Keichinger, 19, was arrested for DUI and possession of cannabis. Keichinger was processed at the NIU Police Department and released on $150 bond.

At 2:43 a.m., an officer on patrol of Grant Towers North made contact with an individual who was under 21 and intoxicated. The individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

At 5:06 a.m., an officer on patrol of Douglas Hall made contact with an individual in regard to a report of disorderly conduct and criminal damage. The individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for disorderly conduct and criminal damage.

At 9:08 a.m., officers were dispatched to Douglas Hall in regard to a report of disorderly conduct. The officer made contact with the individual in question. The individual was given a verbal warning for disorderly conduct.

At 9:24 a.m., an officer was dispatched to Neptune West in regard to a report of cannabis. The officer arrived on the scene and investigated. During the investigation, the officer determined the incident to be unfounded.
