Blotter 3/29 – 3/30

The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

Friday

At 2:10 a.m., an officer on patrol of the 900 block of Greenbrier made contact with an individual in regard to disorderly conduct. The individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for disorderly conduct.

At 10:26 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 12:49 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of credit card fraud. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 3:21 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the Recreation Center in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 3:41 p.m., officers were dispatched to Northern View Apartments in regard to a report of domestic battery. The officers arrived on scene and investigated. Tyheatsha L. Carr, 20, was arrested for domestic battery. Carr was processed at the NIU Police Department and then transported to the DeKalb County Jail.

At 7:21 p.m., officers on patrol of the 600 block of N. Annie Glidden Road made contact with an individual who was under 21 and intoxicated. The individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

At 7:40 p.m., officers on patrol of the Convocation Center made contact with an individual in regard to cannabis. The individual was given a verbal warning for possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 7:49 p.m., officers on patrol of the Convocation Center made contact with an individual in regard to cannabis. The individual was given a verbal warning for possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 8:52 p.m., an officer on patrol of the Convocation center made contact with an individual who was under 21 and intoxicated. The individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

At 9:14 p.m., officers were dispatched to Neptune North in regard to a report of cannabis. The officers made contact with an individual in the room in question. The individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 9:23 p.m., officers on patrol of the Convocation Center made contact with an individual in regard to a disturbance. The individual failed to comply with the officer’s directions during the investigation. This case is open pending further investigation.

Saturday

At 12:38 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 300 block of North Annie Glidden Road in regard to a report of a suspicious person. The officer arrived on the scene and made contact with the individual in question. The individual was under 21 and consuming alcohol. The individual was given a verbal warning for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

At 1:20 a.m., an officer on patrol of the 1300 block of Blackhawk Drive made contact with two individuals who were under 21 and consuming alcohol. The individuals were given verbal warnings for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

At 1:34 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Douglas Hall in regard to a report of criminal damage. The office met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 9:43 PM, officers were dispatched to Lot 5 in regard to a report of a domestic disturbance. Officers arrived on the scene and investigated. During the investigation one individual attempted to flee the scene. The individual was under age 21 and had been consuming alcohol. The individual, a juvenile offender, was arrested for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor and obstructing a peace officer. The juvenile was processed at the NIU Police Department and then released on an individual bond. The other individual, Mykal A. Fonseca, 21, was arrested for domestic battery. Fonseca was processed at the NIU Police Department and then transported to the DeKalb County Jail.

At 12:39 p.m., officers were dispatched to the bus turnaround by Holmes Student Center in regard to a disturbance. The officer arrived on scene and investigated. One individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for assault.
