Blotter 4/10 – 4/13

The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

Wednesday

Officers responded to 1100 W. Lincoln Highway to arrest Christopher K. Riggs, 36. Riggs was charged with disorderly conduct, domestic battery and theft of utility service. Riggs was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

At 9 a.m., Brittany Wilkins, 20, turned herself in on a complaint of retail theft. Wilkins was released on bond.

At 5:58 p.m., a victim called to report that there were three male suspects out by a mailbox attempting to damage it. The suspects were seen kicking and hitting the mailbox. The suspects fled the scene on foot after being chased by the victim. The victim caught up with the suspects in the parking lot of the DeKalb County Health Department. Officers spoke with the victim and observed the mailbox bracket was bent down and the flag was broken off. Officers spoke with the suspects and found Dylan J. Blackstone, 20, was the one who damaged the mailbox. Blackstone was charged with criminal damage to property, possession of drug paraphernalia and consumption of alcohol by a minor. Blackstone was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

Thursday

At 3:51 p.m., officers responded to Famous Footwear, 2453 Sycamore Road, for a report of retail theft. Following an investigation, Delvya J. Harris, 20, and Jasmine Jackson, 21, were charged with retail theft. Harris was also charged with attempting to obstruct justice.

At 5:05 p.m., officers responded to Walmart, 2300 Sycamore Road, in response to a report of retail theft. Following an investigation, Ashley Wyatt, 22, was charged with retail theft.

Friday

At 8:57 a.m., following a traffic stop at 400 Grove St., Juan C. Dominguez-Garcia, 34, was charged with driving with a suspended license and disobeying a stop sign. Dominguez-Garcia was released on bond.

Saturday

At 12:30 a.m., officers responded to Lundeen’s, 1030 Arcadia Drive, for a report of retail theft. Following an investigation, Janathan J. Turner, 19, was charged with retail theft, possession of alcohol by a minor and resisting a peace officer. Turner was released on bond.

At 3:09 a.m., officers responded to Prontos Pizza, 1023 1/2 W. Hillcrest Drive, in response to a retail theft. The complainant said a suspect took the tip jar and ran away with it. Following an investigation, Dezmond Q. Hayes, 18, was charged with theft under $500. Hayes was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

At 9:10 a.m., officers responded to 1400 Twombly Road to follow up on a driving complaint. Bianca M. Brown, 24, was charged with driving with a suspended license and was released on bond.

At 6:14 p.m., following a traffic stop at the 1000 block of W. Hillcrest Drive, Anthony J. Davis, 19, was charged with driving with a suspended license, no seat belt and illegal transportation of alcohol by a minor. Davis was released on bond.

At 6:29 p.m., following a traffic stop at 1026 W. Hillcrest Drive, Briayan Estrada-Vazquez, 19, was charged with driving without a license.

At 9:33 p.m., officers responded to 830 Edgebrook Drive to serve a warrant. Brandy Braden, 26, was charged with failure to appear—domestic battery. Braden was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
