The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

Friday

The complainant reported two females entered Road Ranger, 933 S. Fourth St., took four donuts and left without paying. The suspects were located in the 1100 block of South Fourth Street. They were returned and identified by the complainant. Tanya Boorsma, 33, and Shannon Smith, 26, were charged with retail theft.

At 1:43 p.m., while doing a building check at 829 Greenbrier Road, a vehicle pulled into the lot. A male subject, Prince A. Montgomery, 29, got out of the vehicle and entered the building. When Montgomery exited the building, he was questioned about being in the building. Montgomery had no identification on him and a check through LEADS showed him having a suspended license. Montgomery was place under arrest, booked and later was released on bond.

At 5:11 p.m., officers responded to Walmart, 2300 Sycamore Road, for a report of retail theft. Following an investigation, Jamie L. Hufstedler, 28, was charged with retail theft and a warrant for failure to appear—driving with a suspended license.

At 6:35 p.m., the owner of a John Street residence called to report finding a sleeping bag and personal belongings in his vacant home when he went to check on it. The complainant also said he found a broken screen and window lock. Following investigation, Chadwick Whitney, 40, was charged with criminal trespass.

At 9:38 p.m., following a traffic stop at 800 Edgebrook Drive, Janeva L. Grant, 21, was charged with driving with a suspended license and no insurance. The passenger, David L. Street, 21, was charged with no seatbelt. Street was released on bond and Grant was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

At 10:23 p.m., officers were dispatched to a Kimberly Drive residence for a domestic disturbance. Officers spoke with both parties. Michael T. Thorn Hill, 52, was charged with domestic battery.

At 11:40 p.m., following a traffic stop at 800 Greenbrier Road, Orlando Rea-Valdez, 21, was charged with driving with a suspended license and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. The passenger, David O. Esquibias, 21, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis.

At 11:40 p.m., while on walk patrol, officers observed a suspect at 829 Greenbrier Road holding a beer can. Officers spoke with the suspect, who consented to a search. The suspect was found in possession of pills and cannabis. One of the pills was determined to be ecstasy. Lionisio Aleman, 22, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of cannabis. Aleman was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

Saturday

At 1:53 a.m., following a traffic stop at 1100 Hillcrest Drive, Valientino M. Coates, 24, was charged with no valid driver’s license, no insurance, illegal transportation and no headlights. Marche D. Watson, 21, was charged with a previous warrant for failure to appear—driving with a suspended license.

At 1:54 a.m., following a traffic stop at 1000 W. Lincoln Highway, Chad J. Alan, 24, was charged with improper lane use and two counts of DUI. Alan was released on bond with a court date.

At 8:12 a.m., following a traffic stop at 200 N. Sixth St., Julio C. Miranda, 23, was charged with driving with a suspended license and was released on bond.

At 9:01 a.m., officers attempted to serve a warrant at 851 Daleann Ave. Officers located the wanted subject and arrested him. Gabino Dominguez, 27, was charged with failure to appear—no valid driver’s license. Dominguez was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

At 9:15 a.m., Brent L. Elicke was charged with a valid warrant for failure to appear—aggravated DUI. Elicke was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

At 11:28 a.m., following a traffic stop at 500 Culver St., Evelia Morales, 47, was charged with no valid driver’s license, no insurance and disobeying a stop sign. Morales was released on bond.

At 1:07 p.m., following a traffic stop at 700 E. Lincoln Highway, Shontica C. Anderson, 21, was charged with driving with a suspended license and expired registration sticker. Anderson was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

At 4:38 p.m., following a traffic stop at 100 W. Lincoln Highway, Jessica A. Lyons, 32, was charged with driving with a suspended license and was released on bond.

At 7:29 p.m., officers spoke with a group of individuals in the area of 751 Russell Road. After conversing with the three males, their names were checked against the University Village ban list and officers learned one of the individuals previously received a ban notice from DeKalb Police. Lanell Craft, 29, was charged with criminal trespass to real property.

At 9:29 p.m., officers went to 609 Davy St. to serve a warrant. Ryan D. Carpenter, 32, was charged with a warrant for contempt of court out of LaSalle County. Carpenter was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

Sunday

At 1:24 a.m., following a traffic stop at 100 W. Lincoln Highway, Dezmond Q. Hayes, 18, was charged with obstructing identification and no insurance. The passenger, Cody A. Winters, 25, was charged with warrants for failure to appear—resisting and failure to appear—dangerous drugs.

At 2:03 a.m., officers responded to Burritoville, 1026 W. Hillcrest Drive, regarding a fight in progress in the parking lot. Upon arrival, one subject, Israel Zarate, 21, fled on foot. He was captured and issued a fighting in the city complaint. Two other subjects, Adolfo Franco-Herrera and Antonio M. Rugerio, 25, were issued fighting in the city complaints. A fourth subject, Dante M. Ortega, 26, was taken into custody and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and a warrant for failure to appear. Ortega was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

At 8:20 p.m., following a traffic stop at 100 W. Lincoln Highway, Aurelio B. Beltran Jr., 25, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis.

At 11:10 p.m., officers responded to University Village, 630 N. Annie Glidden Road, for a report of a suspicious person. Following investigation, Jarrell T. Haynes, 28, was charged with criminal trespass to real property. Haynes was released on bond.
