DeKalb resident arrested for possession of cannabis plants

Seventeen cannabis sativa plants were discovered Friday in the basement of a residence in the 2100 block of Highland Drive.
A search warrant was conducted at about 6 p.m. after a smell of fresh cannabis had been detected in the area. The homeowner, Daniel Riebeling, 34, was placed under arrest after arriving at the residence during the search. Riebeling was charged with Unlawful Possession of Cannabis Sativa Plants (5-20) and a class four felony. Riebeling was transported to the DeKalb County Jail, and the investigation is ongoing. Additional charges are anticipated, according to a news release from the Sycamore Police Department.
