The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

At 9:36 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.

At 6:16 p.m., an officer was dispatched to New Hall West in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 8:14 p.m., an officer on patrol of Lot W made contact with an individual in regard to criminal damage to property. Contact resulted in the individual being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for criminal damage to property.

At 8:55 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the 800 block of Regent Drive. The driver of the vehicle, Delonta K. Johnson, 23, attempted to leave the scene and did not comply with the officer’s directions. Delonta was arrested for obstructing a peace officer. He was processed at the NIU Police Department and then released on an individual bond.
