The DeKalb Education Foundation (DEF) will host its annual Comedy Night fundraiser at 8 p.m. on April 5 at the Egyptian Theatre, 135 N. Second St.

The event will feature a Chicago improv comedy competition, ComedySportz.

Two teams from ComedySportz will compete for the audience’s applause through scenes, games and phrases. The event is open to all ages. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online at www.egyptiantheatre.org or at the Egyptian Theatre box office. Tickets can also be purchased from any DEF board member at the door the night of the performance.

Proceeds from the event, sponsored by Resource Bank, 555 Bethany Road,k will fund grants for students in District 428. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and seating begins at 7:30 p.m.

Fatty’s Pub & Grille, 1312 W. Lincoln Highway, will provide a cash bar throughout the evening.
