The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
Tuesday
At 10:59 p.m. on Feb. 18, an officer was dispatched to Neptune West in regard to a report of harassment by telephone. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. On Tuesday, this case was administratively closed at the request of the complainant.
At 1 a.m., an officer on patrol of Stevenson Towers North made contact with a complainant in regard to a report of batter. After speaking to the complainant, the officer made contact with two individuals identified as the offenders. Jeremia Onar, 19, and Matthew Francis, 19, were arrested for battery and processed at the NIU Police Department. Onar was released on $150 bond. Francis was transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
At 8:43 a.m., officers on patrol of Stevenson Towers South made contact with an individual who had an active arrest warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor. John Murray, 21, was arrested and processed at the NIU Police Department. He was transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
At 8:52 a.m., officers on patrol of DuSable Hall made contact with an individual with an active arrest warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of assault. Nicholas Baker, 23, was arrested and processed at the NIU Police Department. He was transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
At 1:54 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Neptune Central in regard to a report of criminal trespass. The officer arrived on scene and made contact with the individual in the room in question. Deandre Martin, 19, was arrested for criminal trespass and processed at the NIU Police Department. He was released on $1,500 bond.
At 2:23 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Douglas Hall in regard to a report of cannabis. The officer made contact with an individual in the room in question. Contact resulted in the individual being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis.
At 8:48 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Grant Towers North in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 10:04 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 500 block of Normal Road in regard to a report of disorderly conduct. The officer arrived on scene and met with the individual in question. The individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for disorderly conduct.
At 11:25 p.m., officers on patrol of the 1100 block of Varsity Boulevard made contact with an individual in regard to cannabis. Contact resulted in the individual being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of drug paraphernalia.
