The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
Friday
• At 1:56 p.m. on Feb. 27, an officer was dispatched to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of battery. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. On Friday, Ryder J. Dubois, 18, was arrested on a warrant for battery. Dubois was processed at the NIU Police Department and then released on $150 bond.
At 2:09 a.m., an officer on patrol of Grant Towers North made contact with three individuals who were under 21 and intoxicated. The individuals were given verbal warnings for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.
At 1:19 p.m., officers on patrol of the 900 block of Crane Drive made contact with an individual who had an active arrest warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of disorderly conduct. Donnela C. Dilworth, 20, was arrested and processed at the NIU Police Department. Dilworth was released on $275 bond.
At 3:38 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Parking Lot O in regard to a report of criminal damage to a motor vehicle. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.
At 7:01 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Douglas Hall in regard to a wellbeing check. The officer met with the complainant and then made contact with the individual in question, who was under 21 and intoxicated. Contact resulted in the individual being given a verbal warning for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.
At 7:02 p.m., officers were dispatched to Neptune Hall West in regard to a report of theft. The officers met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 7:53 p.m., an officer on patrol of the 800 block of Hillcrest Drive made contact with an individual in regard to cannabis. Michael R. Coughlin, 22, was arrested for possession of cannabis. He was processed at the NIU Police Department and then released on $150 bond.
Saturday
At 12:26 a.m., an officer on patrol of the 900 block of Greenbrier Road made contact with an individual who was under 21 and in possession of alcohol. Contact resulted in the individual being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.
At 2:01 a.m., an officer on patrol of Stevenson Towers North made contact with a complainant in regard to a report of battery. The officer took a report and initiated an investigation. Kiera S. Johnson, 20, was arrested for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor. She was processed at the NIU Police Department and then released on $1,500 bond. She was also referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for battery.
At 1:01 p.m., officers on patrol of the 1100 block of Blackhawk Road made contact with an individual who had an active arrest warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of Battery. Michael T. Neumann, 22, was arrested and processed at the NIU Police Department. Neumann was released on $375 bond.
At 5:15 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Grant Towers North in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 11:15 p.m., an officer on patrol of the 800 block of North Annie Glidden Road made contact with an individual who was under 21 and in possession of alcohol. Contact resulted in the individual being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.
At 12:32 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 800 block of Edgebrook Drive in regard to a report of a loud party. The officer arrived on scene and made contact with an individual. The individual was under 21 and in possession of alcohol. During the course of the contact the individual failed to comply with directions from the officer and left the scene. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 1:53 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Deerpath Road in regard to a report of disorderly conduct. The officers met with the complainant, took a report, and then made contact with an individual identified as the offender. The individual was under 21 and intoxicated. The individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for Disorderly conduct and unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.
At 2:40 a.m., an officer on patrol of the 1000 block of West Hillcrest Avenue made contact with an individual in regard to a report of Battery. Christopher D. Carrillo, 25, was arrested for battery and processed at the NIU Police Department. Carrillo was released on $150 bond.
At 3:13 a.m., an officer on patrol of the 1000 block of West Hillcrest Avenue observed what appeared to be a battery in progress. The officer intervened and initiated an investigation. The two individuals involved were determined to be mutual aggressors and released without charge.
At 8:50 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Stevenson Towers South in regard to a report of criminal damage. The officer arrived on scene and made contact with the individual in question. Ian M. Wilke, 19, was arrested for criminal damage to state supported property. He was processed at the NIU Police Department and then transported to the DeKalb County Jail. Wilke was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor. The charge of Arson was closed, prosecution denied.
