The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
Wednesday
At 12:58 a.m., officers on patrol observed a vehicle, which had its right turn signal on, make a left turn. The vehicle then crossed the lane marker. Following a traffic stop at 200 N. Annie Glidden Road, Haley R. Reiland, 25, was charged with DUI, DUI over .08, and improper lane usage.
At 3:25 p.m., officers reported to Walmart, 2300 Sycamore Road, in reference to a retail theft. Following investigation, Ashley L. Wendling, 19, and Janathan J. Turner, 18, were both charged with retail theft.
Thursday
At 12:07 a.m., officers observed a vehicle in which both front seat passengers did not have their seat belts fastened. Following a traffic stop at 900 Greenbrier Road, Kvonta Lanar Gardner, 20, was charged with no seat belt and Joshua M. Lee, 24, was charged with an original warrant of unlawful use of a debit card and was given a written warning for his seat belt violation. Lee was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
At 12:37 a.m., officers observed a silver Ford exit the parking lot of Taco Bell, 1209 W. Lincoln Highway, without its headlights on. The vehicle approached the intersection of 1100 W. Lincoln Highway in the left turn lane. The left turn arrow was red and the vehicle did not stop until the back tires were completely over the solid white stop line. Following a traffic stop at 100 N. Annie Glidden Road, Ky Odonald Claeys, 23, was charged with DUI, DUI over .08, driving without lights when required, disobeying traffic control legend and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
At 5:14 p.m., officers responded to Walmart, 2300 Sycamore Road, in response to a report of retail theft. Following an investigation, Shakira C. Barnes, 20, and Sherrelle S. Johnson, 20, were both charged with retail theft.
At 11:45 p.m., following a traffic stop at 900 Crane Drive, Jamelia A. Clay, 23, was charged with driving with a revoked license and was released on bond.
Saturday
At 1:41 a.m., officers responded to Road Ranger, 1734 Sycamore Road, in reference to disorderly conduct. It was learned the suspect had an argument with another subject and was requesting a ride from Road Ranger to Hope Haven. Following investigation, Sharnice Latrice Shamone Glenn, 26, was charged with failure to appear—property offenses.
At 4:49 p.m., officers responded to Walmart, 2300 Sycamore Road, in reference to retail theft. Following investigation, Erika C. Hernandez, 19, Meshia O. Williams, 18, Malina Martinez, 19, and Jarah N. Audette, 22, were all charged with retail theft. Audette was also charged with possession of cannabis and possession of paraphernalia. Hernandez, Meshia and Martinez were unable to post bond and were transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. Audette was released on bond.
At 6:11 p.m., following a traffic stop at 1500 E. Lincoln Highway, Scott G. Prestin, 43, was charged with driving with a suspended license. Prestin was released on bond.
At 8:39 p.m., officers responded to a Fisk Avenue residence in reference to a domestic problem. Following investigation, Brandon M. Witkin, 30, was charged with failure to appear—theft in Ogle County.
