Friday
At 7:52 p.m. on Dec. 13, officers were dispatched to Neptune Hall East in regard to a report of residential burglary. The officers met with the complainant and took a report. On Friday, this case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.
At 12:19 a.m., an officer on patrol of Stevenson Towers North made contact with an individual who was under 21 and intoxicated. During the course of the contact, the individual attempted to flee from the officer. Corey J. Jefko, 18, was arrested for obstructing a peace officer. He was processed at the NIU Police Department and then released on $150 bond. Jefko was also referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor and unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.
At 1:59 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Barsema Hall in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. Later that day the complainant received the property. This case is closed, unfounded.
At 5:03 p.m., an officer on patrol of the 1000 block of Hillcrest made contact with an individual in regard to a report of trespass. During the contact the individual attempted to flee from the officer. Jordan Haynes, 20, was arrested for obstructing a peace officer. During a search after the arrest, officers discovered cannabis on Haynes’s person. He was also charged with possession of cannabis. Haynes was processed at the NIU Police Department and then transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
At 5:57 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of theft. The officers met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 11:23 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Stevenson Towers South in regard to a report of cannabis. The officer made contact with an individual in the room in question. Contact resulted in the individual being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis.
At 11:57 p.m., officers on patrol of the 800 block of Greenbrier Road made contact with an individual who was under 21 and in possession of alcohol. During the course of contact the individual provided the officers with false information and attempted to flee. Dillan J. Quitno, 19, was arrested for obstructing a peace officer, obstructing identification and unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor. He was processed at the NIU Police Department and transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
Saturday
At 12:59 a.m., an officer on patrol of Grant Towers North made contact with an individual in regard to a report of theft. The officer took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
Sunday
At 3:20 a.m., an officer on patrol of Neptune East made contact with an individual in regard to cannabis. Contact resulted in the individual being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis.
At 3:18 p.m., officers were dispatched to Stevenson Towers North in regard to a report of domestic battery. Officers arrived on scene and initiated an investigation. Brice T. Burris, 19, was arrested for domestic batter. Burris was processed at the NIU Police Department and then transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
At 10:37 p.m., officers were dispatched to Stevenson Towers North in regard to a report of cannabis. The officers made contact with an individual in the room in question. The individual was found to be under 21 and in possession of alcohol. The individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.
At 11:24 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Stevenson Towers North in regard to a report of cannabis. The officer made contact with an individual in the room in question. The officer discovered that the individual was in possession of drug paraphernalia and a possible controlled substance. The individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of drug paraphernalia. The investigation into the possible controlled substance is still pending investigation.
