The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
At 11:08 p.m., officers responded to 1115 N. Annie Glidden Road in response to an attempted burglary. The complainant said that he came down the stairs and found the suspect attempting to defeat a lock with a screwdriver. When the complainant asked the suspect what he was doing, the suspect replied, “Nothing.” When asked what he was using the screwdriver for the suspect asked, “What screwdriver?” Officers followed the tracks left by the suspect but were unable to locate the suspect.
At 11:52 a.m., officers responded to 1212 Varsity Blvd. for a report of criminal damage to a vehicle. The victim advised that an unknown person or persons slashed both rear tires of the vehicle, broke off both of the outside mirrors and cut the wires to those mirrors between 2 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday. An investigation was started.
