Egyptian Theatre to present best films of all time screening
January 30, 2013
The top 10 movies of all time have been up for debate since Ashton Kutcher decided to play Steve Jobs.
If you have ever been interested in seeing some classic films, check out the American Film Institute’s top nine movies of all time at the Egyptian Theatre, 135 N. Second St.
A ticket for any film is $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. A package price to see all of the films on the list is also available for $50 for adults and $30 for students and seniors.
The Egyptian Theatre will also present a complimentary showing of “Schindler’s List;” no ticket is required for admission.
The event begins at 2 p.m. Saturday with “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.”
A movie connoisseur might recognize that movie is No. 24 on AFI’s list. This is because Warner Bros. would not allow “The Wizard of Oz,” No. 10, to be shown.
An additional showing of “E.T.” will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Here is a list of AFI’s top nine movies and when they will play:
9. “Vertigo”: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday
8. “Schindler’s List”: 6:30 p.m. Feb. 12
7. “Lawrence of Arabia”: 6:30 p.m. Feb. 19

The event will also include entertaining and informative introductions from local experts in film, theater and art. This event provides an opportunity to beef up your movie chops. Tickets are available for purchase at EgyptianTheatre.org.
