The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
Wednesday
At 12:57 a.m., following a traffic stop at 1000 W. Hillcrest Drive, Ryan S. Taylor, 25, was charged with DUI, DUI over .08, improper turn, and improper lane use. Taylor was released on bond.
At 8:59 a.m., officers observed a blue Honda Civic with a 2011 registration sticker. After checking LEADS, it was found that Stefan G. Canonge, 22, had a suspended license and had a registration suspension. Following a traffic stop on 100 Park Ave., Canonge was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a vehicle with registration suspension, no insurance, driving with a suspended license, and expired regulation sicker. Canonge was released on bond.
At 11:14 p.m., officers observed the suspect, who they knew to have a suspended license, drive by. Following a traffic stop at 100 Normal Road, Mikail B. Bass, 22, was charged with driving with a suspended license.
Thursday
At 2:07 p.m., officers observed a vehicle traveling at 61 mph on Sycamore Road which has a speed limit of 35 mph. Following a traffic stop in the Lowe’s, 2050 Sycamore Road, parking lot, Daniel M. Wojnicki, 32 was charged with driving with license revoked, speeding, and disobeyed traffic signal. Wojnicki was released on bond.
At 6:48 p.m., officers responded to Kohl’s, 2070 Sycamore Road, for a report of retail theft. An investigation led to the arrest of Jeffrey K. R. Stout, 24, for retail theft. Stout was released on bond.
At 10:24 p.m., University Village security advised they saw the suspect enter 915 Crane Drive Apt 701. The suspect was banned from the property and had valid warrants. The address was also protected under an Order of Protection. Christopher R. Williams, 27, was charged with failure to appear—Domestic, and a warrant for body attachment, trespass to property, and obstructing ID.
At 10:31 p.m., following a traffic stop at 300 N. Seventh St., Jami Dawn Payne, 31, was charged with DUI, DUI over .08, and no seat belt.
Friday
At 1:39 a.m., following a traffic stop at 700 N. Annie Glidden Road, Tiffany L. Hamilton, 22, was charged with DUI, DUI over .08, improper lane usage, failure to signal, expired registration, and illegal transportation of alcohol.
At 5:11 a.m., officers responded to Steak ‘n Shake, 2380 Sycamore Road, for disorderly conduct. An employee said there was a sudden rush for food. Two suspects became very upset that their food was not being served fast enough and became belligerent. The employee did not want the suspects banned or arrested, just requested they leave. Officers had the suspects apologize and leave.
At 8:43 a.m., officers observed a vehicle backing up at 1100 Rushmoore Drive. A driver’s license check revealed the owner had a suspended license. After contact with the driver, Joseph E. Gunn, 40, was charged with driving with a suspended license.
At 10:23 a.m., officers responded to Best Buy, 2074 Sycamore Road, after receiving a report of an employee stealing retail. Daniel W. Howler, 23, was charged with retail theft.
At 1:08 p.m., officers were advised of the suspect’s presence at Twin Tavern, 1028 S. Fourth St. The suspect was wanted for several warrants. Diane M. Small, 49, was charged with failure to appear —domestic battery for DeKalb County, and a DUI for Ogle County. Small was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
At 11:51 p.m., officers observed a vehicle traveling southbound on N. Annie Glidden Road without headlights when required. Following a traffic stop, Ivory J. Jones was charged with no valid driver’s license. Jones was released on bond.
Saturday
At 3:20 a.m., officers observed a vehicle drive through a red light. Following a traffic stop, Antonio L. Little, 21, was charged with two counts of DUI, disobeyed traffic signal, illegal transport of alcohol, and uninsured motor vehicle,
At 11:56 a.m., following a traffic stop, De Shawn L. Washington, 23, was charged with no valid driver’s license, no seat belt and unlawful possession of cannabis.
At 3:00 p.m., officers responded to Walmart, 2300 Sycamore Road, for a report of retail theft. An investigation led to Monique N. Ellis, 21, being charged with retail theft. Ellis was released on bond.
At 3:25 p.m., officers responded to Kohl’s, 2070 Sycamore Road, for a report of retail theft. An investigation led to Parish A, Riley, 20, being charged with retail theft. Riley was released on bond.
