Feed’em Soup to host special Thanksgiving meal

By Northern Star Staff

Feed’em Soup will be hosting a special Thanksgiving service on Thursday to celebrate the community.

According to a Monday news release, Feed’em Soup, 122 S. First St., will be having a special service on Thanksgiving in hopes of starting a community wide tradition.

The meal will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. and families with children are encouraged to bring the whole family to experience the meaning of giving thanks according to the Feed’em Soup website, www.feedemsoup.org.

The menu for the meal includes turkey, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce among other holiday favorites according to the release. This year will be the second Thanksgiving dinner offered by the organization, and donations to the group are always accepted but never mandatory.

Feed’em Soup will also begin hosting weekly meals in January. Currently meals are offered twice a month, but will soon be held every week.

For more information on the event, or details on how to volunteer to help with the dinner, contact Feed’em Soup chef Alex Smith at 815-310-0903.
