The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

Sunday

At 12:40 a.m., officers observed a subject urinating on 700 Regent Drive next to a Cadillac SUV. Officers searched the vehicle and its three passengers and found an outstanding warrant out for one of the passengers. Cedric S. Hakiza, 24, was charged with failure to appear – contempt of court for Kane County. Unable to post bond, Hakiza was transported him to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

At 1:08 a.m., officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct at the Delta Upsilon House, 918 Kimberly Drive. Following investigation, Angel M. Hernandez, 19, was charged with disorderly conduct and two counts of battery.

At 2:15 a.m., officers observed a driver commit driving violations on 1000 Market Street. Following a traffic stop, Jerry D. Santoni, 26, was charged with improper lane usage, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, and two counts of driving under the influence. Santoni was booked and released on bond.

At 2:33 a.m., officers observed a male subject walking in the roadway at 500 Kimberly Drive. Officers asked the subject multiple times to get on the sidewalk. After signing the citation for pedestrian in roadway, Michael T. Gardner, 22, took a swing at one of the officers. Gardner was taken to the ground and placed under arrest. Gardner was charged with aggravated assault and pedestrian in roadway and was transported to DeKalb County Jail.

Officers on patrol observed a subject who resembled a wanted man. After further investigation, Cody R. Ward, 24, was charged with a warrant of deceptive practice and a warrant for criminal damage. Ward was booked and transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

At 1 p.m., Heather C. Mendez, 32, turned herself in on a warrant of failure to appear — bad checks. Mendez was booked and released on bond.

At 2:07 p.m., Yen Ching Village, 901 Lucinda Ave., reported a suspect stole a coin donation display for leukemia because the subject was dissatisfied with his meal. Paul E. Lemarr, 42, was charged with theft. Lemarr was booked, charged and released. The property was photographed and returned to the business.
