Rachael Rochocki, senior speech language pathology major:
“Yes, because being a community adviser, we were all over the residence halls with our hall directors making sure that nothing was going wrong and watching out for other people. Also, I felt there was a higher police presence in the off-campus areas.”
“If I had seen the Student Association’s flier, I would of been encouraged because it looks decent and has good advice like recommending to call 911 and such. However, it does say on the flier ‘Do not be afraid to help’ and I think it makes it seem that they could want you to get involved in a situation and I don’t like that. I haven’t heard a whole lot from the Student Association. They are influential but I don’t think students recognize their influence because they do not have much of a presence.”
“Yes, I do think they kept campus safe. I haven’t heard much about any major crime incidents over the weekend and I think it is because of the higher police presence.”
“I didn’t go anywhere alone and I stayed with groups of people. I made sure that I stayed aware of my surroundings at all times.”
