Tour to include art gallery, fashion show, silent auction
September 24, 2012
The fifth annual Art Walk, a gallery and artist studio tour hosted by the Sycamore Art Attack School of Art, 215 W. Elm St., will begin Oct. 6.
The Art Walk will allow the public to visit artist studios, homes and other locations in a fair that stretches between Sycamore and DeKalb. Artists will have the opportunity to demonstrate and sell their works, answer questions and introduce themselves and their art to the public.
Daniel Grych, owner of The Art Box, 308 E. Lincoln Highway, a frame shop and gallery in DeKalb, spoke briefly about The Art Box’s involvement in the event.
“Carmen Armstrong, a professor emeriti for NIU, will show her paintings here that weekend during the Art Walk,” Grych said.
The main event will begin at 10 a.m. while a fashion show and silent auction are also scheduled to take place. The Art Walk is free to the public and brochures will be available.
