The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
Sept. 2, 2012
At 1:44 a.m., a fight was observed at Lukulos, 890 Pappas Drive. When officers came over, Martez Morrow, 23, ran. The police chased him on foot but the suspect did not stop running until he fell. He resisted and was then handcuffed. Witnesses told officers the suspect was flirting with a female and her boyfriend came out and started talking to the suspect. The suspect then struck the boyfriend. A female tried to stop the fight but was also struck by the suspect. Morrow was arrested for battery and resisting arrest.
At 4:29 a.m., police were dispatched to 929 Greenbrier Road for a report of domestic battery. Steven McIntyre, 28, was arrested for domestic battery and resisting a police officer.
At 12:57 a.m., a Wenneth Wilkins, 21, and female were standing by a vehicle at 1000 Ridge Drive. The male pulled a bottle of Patron out of the car and put it in his pocket. Police confronted him and asked if he was 21. He showed ID and he was of age. Police asked for consent of a pat down and it was given. Cannabis was located on the suspect. Police asked the female for consent for searching her car and she gave it. A firearm was found. Wilkens was arrested, booked and transported to DeKalb County Jail for aggravated unlawful use of weapon, possession of cannabis and possession of ammunition.
At 1:57 a.m., an investigation was started in reference to suspicious activity at 910 Greenbrier Road. The complainant reported five male suspects on property looking for lost cocaine. A driver’s license was found.
At 7 a.m., police spoke to a complainant in reference to two broken windows at a fraternity house at 934 Greenbrier Road. A white male was seen running eastbound with a baseball bat. The complainant could not identify the suspect. Security cameras will be examined.
At 8:53 a.m., a complainant called about a spraypainted figure on a window at 900 Normal Road. The figure showed a man wearing a gas mask. There are no suspects at this time.
At 5:30 a.m., an officer was dispatched to 807 Lucinda Ave., Apt. 15, in reference to a burglary complaint. The victim reported electronics missing. An investigation was started.
Between 3 and 7 a.m,, a victim advised that an unknown suspect entered 807 Lucinda Ave., Apt. 15, via an unlocked front door. The report was not filed until 2:05 p.m.
At 2:17 p.m., a complainant called the police department to report theft of gas at Road Ranger, 933 S. Fourth St.
At 2:24 p.m., a victim reported the theft of her wallet at 2344 Sycamore Road. The victim and a friend were in the phone section and the victim’s wallet was in a motorized cart. When they were not looking, someone took the wallet and left the store. The victim’s credit card was used at other businesses in the area. An investigation was started.
At 11:02 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a fight at 142 E. Lincoln Highway. An investigation was started.
At 10:18 p.m., a black Honda’s rear tail light did not illuminate at 700 S. Third St. The vehicle was stopped. The driver, Harold Smith, 37, claimed it was not his vehicle and presented his license and insurance. His license was suspended. The suspect was handcuffed and transported to DeKalb County Jail, then released on bond with a court date. Smith was arrested for driving with a suspended license and a tail light violation.

Nicholas Guzy, 24, turned himself on a valid warrant for possession of cannabis. He was released on bond with a court date.
At 3:50 p.m., officers were dispatched in reference to domestic battery at 200 N. Second St. The victim said her child’s father became upset because she smoked a cigarette. The suspect allegedly followed the victim downstairs and outside. The victim was holding a baby and put the baby in her car. The victim them attempted to get in the car and lock it but the suspect allegedly grabbed her by her hair. Rodney L. Sesson was arrested for domestic battery.
At 2:40 a.m., two vehicles were reported to be driving recklessly on 900 Normal Road. One vehicle was seen crossing over to oncoming traffic twice. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified. Jemell R. Kent, 19, was arrested for driving with a suspended license and unlawful possession of cannabis.
At 2:49 a.m., two subjects tried to stop a vehicle from driving at 900 Hillcrest Drive. One subject was at the passenger door and the other was behind vehicle. The vehicle was reversing into a private lot. Subjects said they were trying to stop the driver because she had too much to drink. Kayla Diane Tumelson was arrested for DUI and a DUI over .08.
At 11:23 p.m., a vehicle pulled out of at 300 Augusta Ave. without yielding. The officer on the road had to hit the break suddenly to avoid an accident. The vehicle was stopped. Robert Racine, 32, was arrested for DUI, failure to yield, failure to signal, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
