NIU announces selection of new ombudsperson
August 30, 2012
The new ombudsperson for NIU will be Sarah Klaper, according to an NIU Today.
Before beginning work at NIU, Klaper previously worked at DePaul University in Chicago for the College of Law, according to the NIU Today article. She taught courses in school law, legal analysis and state and local government. She was also an active member of faculty committees for the Center for Public Interest Law.
Klaper also worked as a community lawyer for the Citizen Advocacy Center in Elmhurst from 2002 to 2006.
Klaper said she will maintain the on-campus relationships and reputation fostered by Tim Griffin, the previous ombudsperson.
The Office of the Ombudsperson gives members of the university community a place to discuss university-related issues or conflicts confidentially.
