LaBrian Carrington, academic counselor for Student Support Services, talks about plans to rejuvenate Mentoring Valuable Peers (MVP) at the TRiO Scholars leadership conference at the Courtyard Marriot Hotel in Secaucus, N.J. MVP is the big brother of two other Student Support Services programs: Trio Scholars and College Parents’ Group. The purpose of the leadership conference was to promote graduate school attendance. Every year Jerry Wright, director of Student Support Services, takes a group of students to New York to educate them on the benefits of attending graduate school.
