Wednesday
At 11:46 a.m., an officer responded to Lot V regarding criminal defacement to property. He met with a person who said someone keyed his car. This case is administratively closed.
At 12:37 p.m., a student filed a theft report at the NIU Police Department. She said someone stole money from her wallet. This case is pending investigation.
At 4:38 p.m., officers responded to Grant Towers because someone said there was an odor of cannabis in a hallway. The officers tracked the smell to a room and spoke with an occupant. The occupant admitted to possessing a small amount of cannabis and two pipes. The offender was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
