Manville, Kellyman Named NIU Scholar Athletes of the Week

NIU baseball’s Tony Manville and track and field’s Chanel Kellyman were named Scholar Athletes of the Week for April 16 through April 22, according to a press release.

Manville, a senior, pitched one of his best games of the season versus ToledoSunday. During the outing, Manville pitched a season-high eight innings, allowed only five hits and struck out five, which was also his season high.

He has a 3.432 GPA and is a history major.

Kellyman, a junior nursing major, shattered the NIU 100 meter school record at the 85th annual Kansas Relays by running a time of 11.75. She also ran well in the 200 meter race, where she placed fifth.

Kellyman currently has a 3.009 GPA.

NIU’s Chance to Bring College GameDay to Campus

From April 23 through May 2, people can vote to bring ESPN’s College GameDay to NIU for a commercial shoot. The well-known college football pregame show will film a commercial at the campus of the winning school. The commercial will air in the fall.

This is the first time ESPN is allowing fans to vote for which campus a commercial should be shot at.
