The Rant: Lin’s play is going down

By Sean Anderson

Jeremy Lin is being over hyped for every little thing he does except for turning the ball over.

Seems like every night ESPN’s SportsCenter covers Lin for at least 20 of the 60 minutes in their broadcast.

Yes, Lin has been playing good for a guy that wasn’t drafted and cut by two NBA teams, but sooner or later, his luck is going to catch up to him.

I do give Lin credit for being the first American player in the NBA to be of Chinese or Taiwanese descent.

What SportsCenter isn’t covering is that he is turning over the ball almost as much as he is making shots. In his last few games, his turnovers are down, but so are his points and shooting percentage.

For SportsCenter, it’s all about the “Linsanity.” For me, it’s Tim Tebow all over again. The New York Knicks have rarely played a playoff team since Lin has started. Lin and the Knicks did play against the Miami Heat and it was a terrible effort on New York’s end.

It is only a matter of time before Lin is back on bench playing sparring minutes due to Carmelo Anthony and Baron Davis being healthy.
