The Rant: Lucas is balling out of his mind

By Jimmy Johnson

I thought I’d never say this, but, John Lucas III can play, folks.

The Chicago Bulls’ teeny-tiny backup point guard has carved opposing defenses lately in place of the on-and-off injured Derrick Rose.

When Bulls fans were introduced to Lucas this season, many thought, “How did that fifth grader get on the court and why is he chucking shots like the basketball has a disease?”

But lately, Lucas’ shots have been going in, and people are no longer confusing him with a child.

JLIII’s 24 points paced the Bulls to victory over the Miami Heat, and it appears he won’t be cooling down anytime soon.

Thanks for keeping the starting point guard spot warm for Rose, Mr. Lucas.
