Warrants were issued Sunday for three suspects charged in connection with a stabbing that occurred Friday night.

According to a DeKalb Police Department press release, the victim was stabbed during an altercation at a party at a residence in the 1500 block of Stonefield Drive.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries to the face and back, said DeKalb Police Lt. Gary Spangler. The victim was taken to Kishwaukee Community Hospital, treated and later released.

The three suspects, all known gang members, are all charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery and mob action. Bond is set at $500,000 each, Spangler said.

Late Monday morning one of the suspects, Francisco Y. Velasquez, 21, of DeKalb, was arrested in the 1300 block of West Lincoln Highway. Lacey Akers, 19, of DeKalb, was also charged with harboring a fugitive and obstructing justice.

Early Tuesday morning another suspect, Kerry D. West, 19, of Sycamore, was located in Maple Park and arrested by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department.

The final suspect, Valentine Barragan, 19, of DeKalb, still remains at large, Spangler said.

None of the suspects are current NIU students, Spangler said.
