Huskie Trophy Tour

NIU athletics recently started a tour around DeKalb for fans to view the NIU football MAC and GoDaddy.com bowl championship trophies.

This gives fans one last chance to relive one of the most successful seasons in NIU Football history.

There are three weeks left of the tour. This week, the trophies will be on display at Best Buy, 2074 Sycamore Road.

Beginning the week of March 12, they will be on display at Kishwaukee Community Hospital.

The tour trophy will end the week of March 19, will be on display at Fatty’s Pub & Grille, 1312 W. Lincoln Hwy.

Men’s tennis goes 2–1 over weekend

Saturday, NIU men’s tennis defeated two instate rival ins Southern Illinois and Eastern Illinois 7–0.

The wins brought NIU to the 10 win mark for the third straight season.

Sunday, the Huskies (10-4) lost to Wisconsin 6-1. Junior Mikhail Titov was the lone Huskie to win his match.

“We don’t feel good about this one today,” said NIU coach Patrick Fisher in a press release. “We’re not finishing well and to win championships, we need to be tougher.”

The Huskies return to action March 9 when they will host Brown.

Women’s tennis wins 4–3

NIU women’s tennis was victorious Sunday versus the Milwaukee Panthers. They improved their record to 6–4.

Huskies’ senior Emily Rogers won her first match since February 5 by beating Milwaukee’s Kelly Fritz 6–0 and 6–2.

“We played our tails off,” said NIU coach Ryun Ferrel in a press release. “It was a complete team win. Everyone participated in this one. There is no rest for the weary. We need to get ready for spring break.”

The Huskies will return to action over Spring Break down in Daytona, Fla. where they will play three matches.
