The NIU College of Law and the NIU Women’s Law Caucus will host “Demystifying the Female Super Lawyer: Perspectives of Balancing a Career, a Family and Life” Saturday.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Altgeld Hall Room 315. The program will include panel sessions on law student life, networking and balancing life with a legal career and is designed to provide insight and guidance for prospective female attorneys, according to a press release.

The event will feature experience and answers to questions by current law students and alumni as well as a luncheon with keynote speaker Stacey L. Smirricky, NIU alumna and partner with the Chicago office of the international law firm Faegre Baker Daniels. NIU Law Dean Jennifer Rosato will conclude the event with a brief presentation.

The release states all are welcome, but the event focuses mainly on concerns and interests of women applying or already accepted to law school. The event is free, but those interested must RSVP to [email protected] or 815-753-8595. For more information on the program and the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid, visit www.niu.edu/law.
