Author, blogger Cory Doctorow to speak at NIU

Cory Doctorow, best-selling author and co-editor of the popular online blog Boing-Boing, will speak at NIU at 12 p.m. Thursday in the Carl Sanburg Auditorium.

Doctorow will speak for an hour regarding freedom of information and the Internet as well as the moral, scientific and ethical issues behind his best-selling book, Little Brother. There will be a panel discussion with a U.S. Marshall and NIU experts following the talk.

The event is hosted by STEM Outreach as part of its SF Teen Read program, which is a book program to encourage teenagers to read more science fiction. Admission is free and open to the public. The event will also be streaming live online at http://www.livestream.com/niulive.
