City blotter for 2/14/12

The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Thursday
At 12:56 a.m., DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office police stopped a vehicle for speeding on Twombley Road West of Annie Glidden Road. The driver, Christine J. Boston, 33, of DeKalb, was arrested for driving under the influence and transported to the DeKalb County Jail pending bond.
Friday
At 8:54 p.m., DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office police stopped a vehicle on Twombly Road and Annie Glidden Road because the registered owner had a suspended driver’s license. The driver, Crystal L. Figueroa, 25, of Sycamore, was charged with driving while license suspended and a valid failure to appear warrant. Figueroa was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office where she was held pending bond.
Saturday
At 2:14 a.m., DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office police saw a vehicle go into a ditch on Annie Glidden Road, north of Dresser Road. The driver, Evan Williams, 27, of DeKalb, was arrested for driving under the influence and transported to the DeKalb County Jail pending bond.
At 2:40 a.m., DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Deputy observed a vehicle fail to signal when turning south on Russell Road, from Greenbriar Drive. The deputy smelled a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from the driver’s breath. The driver, Trenton A. Eaves, 21, of Elgin, denied drinking. Eaves failed field sobriety tests and was charged with driving under the influence and over .08 and failure to signal when required. Eaves was transported to the DeKalb County Jail pending bond.
Sunday
At 1:27 a.m., a DeKalb police officer on patrol was traveling southbound on First Street behind a black Jeep. As the vehicle approached Taylor Street, the Jeep slowed down but did not stop before turning eastbound on Taylor Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop in the 800 block of South First Street and asked the driver, Edward E. Urbano, 28, of DeKalb, for his driver’s license. Urbano said he didn’t have one and was charged with no valid driver’s license, no insurance, and disobeying a stop sign. Urbano was arrested, transported to the DeKalb Police Department and later released on bond.
At 3:50 a.m., the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a “rolling domestic disturbance” on Peace Road approaching the I-88 overpass. Deputies investigating the incident learned both offenders were siblings and had separately battered each other. Both siblings had items of drug paraphernalia in their possession. Elizabeth A. Santore, 22, of Marrionette Park was charged with two counts of domestic battery and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Anthony J. Santore, 21, of Lombard was charged with two counts of domestic battery, unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Both siblings were arrested and transported to the DeKalb County Jail pending bond.
At 2:20 p.m., DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at Annie Glidden Road north of Baseline Road for a suspicious activity call. The complainant advised a male was knocking at his door then his neighbor’s door. Deputies found Jose J. Rayos-Aguero, 26, of DeKalb, had a flat tire on his vehicle and admitted to driving. Deputies found Rayos-Aguero’s driver’s license to be suspended. Rayos-Aguero posted the required bond and a person with a valid driver’s license drove the vehicle from the scene.
At 6:57 p.m., a DeKalb police officer on patrol ran a registration check on a 2000 Saturn and learned the registered owner had a valid failure to appear warrant. The female in the driver’s seat matched the description of the registered owner. After making contact with the driver, Jaquinna T. Wimbley, 25, of DeKalb, Wimbley confirmed she was the registered owner. Wimbley was arrested, transported to the DeKalb Police Department and later released on bond.
At 11:41 p.m., a DeKalb police officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the 600 block of Sycamore Road. The driver consented to allowing officers search the vehicle. After investigation, the back seat passenger, Henry J. Kizer, 26, of DeKalb, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and cited for not wearing a seat belt.
Monday
At 1:14 a.m., a DeKalb police officer was traveling eastbound on Lincoln Highway and observed a vehicle traveling in front of his squad car. The vehicle was traveling eastbound at 40 mph in a 30 mph zone. The vehicle disobeyed the traffic control signal at West Lincoln Highway and First Street as it turned right. The officer initiated a traffic stop in the 100 block of South First Street and the vehicle stopped at 100 Franklin Street. The driver, Jacqueline C. Shramovich, 22, of DeKalb was charged with two counts of driving under the influence, speeding, disobeying a traffic signal and driving an uninsured vehicle.
